MARTHA'S VINEYARD |
 |
Martha’s Vineyard is a magical place to be in the summer. We would like to share with you some resources and ideas for making your stay here the best it can be! |
| One of the best things about the houses At the Top of the Vineyard is that they are located in West Tisbury and when you rent one of them, you become residents of that town which allows you access to the 2 best beaches on the island: Lambert’s Cove Beach and Long Point Park Beach. (Web Site) Both are ideal for kids of all ages: parents and singles included. |
|
Don’t forget, you MUST reserve a space for your car with the Steamship Authority in advance. It is easiest to do this online. There is no standby on weekends, but the waiting list works really well. If you choose to come over without a car (no reservation needed), be aware you will need transportation on the island. The houses are not within walking distance of the town. |

Long Point Beach - a stunning walk to the ocean shore and a salt water pond that is warm and safe for kids. You have to pay to stay, but its totally worth it. As with all island beaches: you HAVE to get there early or you don’t get in. Do a trial run as this is very hard to find. |

Edgartown is reknowned as an elegant seaport village. The stately architecture has been preserved from the 19th century. Many whaling captains called Edgartown home, and their white clapboard houses line North Water Street. This historic waterfront village is also home to a variety of galleries, boutiques, restaurants, inns and museums, and hosts many annual events such as 4th of July Fireworks & parade, sand sculpture contest, Martha's Vineyard Food & Wine Festival and Christmas in Edgartown. |
